OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC TORCH DESIGN

The Paris 2024 torch design is another contribution by long time collaborator ArcelorMittal and, for the first time, uses the same design for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, designed by Mathieu Lehanneur.

The same company is also behind the Olympic caludron for Paris 2024 and is the next chapter in a longer Olympic history. For London 2012, it was also the key company to bring to life the ArcelorMittal Orbit within the London 2012 Olympic park.

“There is a reason why the Olympic Games draws heavily on design values and it has to do with the depth of creative innovation and historical symbolism that surrounds the Games. Just like athletes, creatives seek to make history when they pursue an Olympic project.

In Paris this year, we are already seeking the importance of this with key features of the programme, from the Olympic podiums to the medals. Some day, these objects will become the focus for remembering the Games in terms of its values, innovation, significance, and meaning.”
